Backup Database

Backs up the database.  All database files are copied to a new folder named with the date and time in the Backups folder beneath the main Data Directory.  See Advanced Options to determine the location of your Data Directory.

Each backup is stored in a folder named in the date/time format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.  E.g, assuming the main Data Directory is C:\ClipMagic and the backup was performed at 13:35:12 on the 15th April 2003 the new backup folder will become:

C:\ClipMagic\Backups\20030415133512\

ClipMagic keeps a number of backups, as defined in General Options.  So if the number of backups is set to 3, ClipMagic will keep the last three backups in individual folders as defined above.  This adds extra safety as it prevents the most recent backup being overwritten (unless, of course, you set the number of backups to keep to one!).

Restoring Data

To restore data, close ClipMagic and copy all the files in the appropriate backup directory to the main ClipMagic directory and then restart.
